Soft Tailoring - Trend Forecasting Project, 2025

Rooted in the post-gender philosophy, this collection challenges the binary perception of clothing by embracing fluidity and self-expression. Oversized silhouettes and body distortion are used to blur the boundaries between masculine and feminine forms, creating a new visual language of freedom and individuality. While genderless design remains the core, the collection also values sustainability and craftsmanship. Each piece becomes a statement of conscious identity - where gender dissolves, and expression takes shape.

Through this Soft Tailoring - Trend Forecasting project, I gained experience in researching fashion trends, including macro and micro trends, trend forecasting, and consumer profiling. Unlike many of my previous projects, this project encouraged me to consider the commercial aspects of fashion design and the relationship between market demand and creative development. It provided valuable hands-on experience and deepened my understanding of how research can inform design decisions within a real-world industry context.

Developed as part of my SS26 Soft Tailoring project, this following trend forecasting package brings together research on potential brand positioning and target consumers, investigations into key macro and micro fashion trends, and customer insights gathered through surveys.

This design development process showcases the evolution of the collection, from initial design exploration and material research to the refinement of silhouettes and final outcomes. It includes color and fabric studies, design iterations, and the development of a commercially relevant collection, alongside visual planning for the collection’s presentation and campaign imagery.
